Tomoyuki Yago
Biography
Tomoyuki Yago (b. 1975) received a BFA from Tama Art University, Tokyo with a major in Moving Images and Performing Arts in 2004. From 1995 he studied at Waseda University, School of Social Sciences. He earned his MA in Imaging Arts and Sciences at Musashino Art University, Tokyo in 2007. Now he is studying at master's program C:Art:Media at Valand School of Fine Arts in Gothenburg, Sweden.
Tomoyuki was awarded the graduation work of excellence prize from Tama Art University in 2004, and the Hayama Art Award from Kunitachikoku in 2007. He has also granted Musashino Art University Fellowship in 2006 and Japanese Student Services Scholarship (1 st grade) from 2005 to 2007.
Since 1999 Tomoyuki produced many movies, documentaries, video arts, installations and performance works. He has exhibited and performed in London and Nottingham, UK in 2006 as an excellent young Japanese artist at the Art Exchange Project supported by British Council and The Daiwa Anglo-Japanese Foundation. His one movie was filmed in Korean cities with some Korean people participating in this project, which was planned by Tomoyuki in 2001.
