01: Project Mobile Room

In my previous work gMobile Lifeh the artist had carried out both a perfect relocation of his own room from its original place that was at his home to the gallery and living in it even at night including sleeping, toilet and so on.

This Project gMobile Roomh will be focused on living in the relocated artist's room. And this is aimed at tackling the subject about a boundary between art and life, a relationship between oneself and place, a gap from one eterritory' to another eterritory'.

Outline

  • This is a performance/installation work in which the artist's original room will be relocated and perfectly reconstructed at the gallery like "Mobile Life". And he will live in it during opening hours of the gallery.
  • An image will be projected to a wall or a screen at the gallery like gMy Room Datah in the previous work gMobile Lifeh. This image is a style of a web site in which many photos of original room are sorted to be interactive form. People visited the gallery can look the condition of the original room and compare it with the real room which is dislocated at the gallery by using this system.
  • One more image will be projected. This is a internet live streaming movie which films the condition of his original room in real time. So people visited at the gallery can watch the situation of his original room that is now empty at real time and compare it with the real room at the gallery.

Another development of gMobile Roomh

  • The gMobile Roomh can be exhibited in the other public sphere but a gallery.   By carrying out this performance/installation in such places this work's range will be extended to the relationship between one's life and art and society.
  • Another idea for gMobile Lifeh is that many people joining in this project carry out each of their gMobil Lifeh together. This plan can be an exhibition held in such spaces as a large one space in which all of the gMobile Lifeh are viewed at once or one building with many small rooms in which every gMobile Roomh is showed in juxtaposition.

02: Project NEGUSE (NEGUSE=one's hair curls the wrong way in one's sleep)

eIn Progress' in this website shows you an ongoing project gNEGUSEh in which the artist has taken photos of his face, side and back every moment when he wakes up and those photos are continuously uploaded onto his blog. One's sleep-disheveled hair is a non-subjective and personal event. And the act of documenting himself diachronically through the event of NEGUSE is closely related to a subject about how oneself and its sphere are shaped. In other words this is a subject about what area is considered socially and externally to be real one person and what area a person can regard as himself. This is a development of the study in gMobile Lifeh gMobile Roomh that focuses on a contradictory feature of one's room, which is < self-somebody else > or < artificial-natural >.

This documentation and its blog are planned to continue for several years. The Project NEGUSE is for planning and creating several works using these photos.

Plan 01: Video Installation

The taken several hundreds photos are projected by some projectors or many monitors at a gallery. For example four moving images composed of the photos historically ordered, these four movies are linked each other just like one long line of the photos, are projected onto four walls in a square space. And this photos' line goes slowly around in the space.
If this work can be exhibited in a long corridor, it may be good for this.

Plan 02: Production and Selling of NEGUSE packing tape

In this plan an adhesive tape on which NEGUSE photos are printed is to be produced. When one tape is made of 300 photos, which is about a number of photos in 3 months, four tapes are made of photos taken in a year. These tapes will be mass-produced and sold to the public. And by packing a parcel with this tape and sending it to someone it would be possible to present an art work using the postal system.

Plan 03: The Art Works using this tape

By using the mass-produced NEGUSE tapes many performance, installation and site-specific art works will be realized in several public areas, such as a crowded city center, a business school, a staircase in an apartment, a big department store, a park on weekdays, a public transportation at noon etc. The advantage of using the tapes as a media of art work is its flexibility in terms of time and space for exhibition because of its stickiness and simplicity. These works will appear in public domain irregularly, suddenly and continuously. And through a series of these works a subject about relation between each sphere of art, individual and society will be thought deeply.
